41 - Lament of a Midnight Rosary (I)

I am an animal, a savage.
My whole life’s been a life of shame.
I have nothing to brag about.
Even my sins have no boast.
I am nothing but the worm under God’s foot.
Jesus Christ, I need help.

In the darkness of the chapel,
Before the Cross,
Before your flesh locked in a box,
I prayed a rosary of five decades.
What grace did I receive,
If I should regress to this loathsome me?
It’s all lament and pain.
I’ve no reason to live, Lord.
I only have reason to die.
