45 - The Jewel of My Lord (IV)

Praise my Lord! Nobody can buy my life
For it’s already purchased by he who is mine
Who keeps his beloved in every place and time.
He has polished my sides, brought me to light.
Passed through the fires of love,
He has made me more radiant than the sun!
In his house, by his side I’m enshrined
As his spotless bride who sits at his right side.

But oh, say I wasn’t a woman, nor one’s bride, but a gem.
Paint me like a stone so thieves won’t take me from him.
Those with understanding, understand.
In the mines, the gem that’s taken is the gem that shines.
A jewel that likes its home hides its light!
When the jewel shines the glint passes before the thief’s eye
So if you are a bride to one like my Lord,
Then please I implore, hide the glory that’s yours.
