My head feels dizzy
And the heat of the air’s washed over me.
I’m with the dogs sat on my chair,
Wishing to sleep like a bear.
But oh my Lord, he won’t like a friend,
Who can’t keep wake to watch all his things.
Oh my, I try to tend to his sheep,
But God, they do not eat!
I go fill their bowls,
They sniff and look at me.
Then they paw my legs, they say,
‘Aren’t you gonna feed me?’
My soul can only scream,
Because it seems they’d rather starve than eat.
If they’d rather die than eat what they need,
Then what’s it to me or thee?
