27 - Prayer: Repentant Heart Marches through Heaven's Gates

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a little while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen you.

In my thoughts, in my words,
In what I’ve done I've gravely sinned.
The evils of my heart
Have flowed forth without end.

If the thoughts of my soul
Were shown to the world,
LORD, even when shown to myself,
Death’s what I would deserve.

But to think you’ve shown me grace,
That you’ve had my life preserved,
I can only pray you make my soul
Worth passing through your gate.
Amen.

LORD I am your baptized son,
With your heart in me.
Because your light shines on my sins,
I weep and ask of thee.

Give me time to repent for all I’ve done.
I’ve had a vain and fruitless life.

Christ, pray, do your good,
Help me love you as you love me.
Christ, do our Father’s good,
To right this life of sin.

When I pass from life to death
And find my whole life judged,
I pray to know that I’m your son,
In spite of evil done.
Amen.
