Blessings upon the Reader to discern the voice of Heaven from the voice of evil
The Word of God rests in every heart,
But as water steeped in poison,
So is the Word when sung by Pride.
As one thinks to sin, God's Grace does Pride remind,
Then after one has fell does Pride ring his bells
To sell the soul a greater sin before they repent.
And this is the spirit's war to know the voice of God.
Oh Jesus Christ, pray for us,
We discern between
The voice that bears the rush of sin
From thy voice peaceable and kind.
