Recanting past writings
9/23/2024
I’ve got time before class. I repent for everything I’ve wrote. Between fashions of the current day and fashions of the past what does it matter anymore? The state of man has fallen so low that I’ve turned grateful to know anyone at all who seeks to keep to God.
My Knights of Columbus council is a council of boomers. They wear shorts, polos, and striped t-shirts, every bit of informal fashion that I’ve previously lampooned, but now I repent. There’s something about God-fearing men that transcends pettiness; seeing men who’ve done more for Christendom in Walmart grade clothes than you’ve ever did seething behind a screen. And When you see one the guys push his dumb and disabled daughter’s high-tech wheelchair I—it puts a lot into perspective. I wish I could smile at my own Dad as much as she did. Once more, my superior is right. The inner life of man matters most.
My ills are not physical. They are spiritual. Every one of the young is like this. The problems we have man can not fix. Only God, God who acts through man.
Maybe this is a word, since I can still remember it as I’ve prayed. Before the Blessed Sacrament, while praying my rosary I came to the image of King Herod slaying the babes of Jerusalem. See, we live in a wonderful time. The world kills what the world fears. There’ll come a day where the babes whom the world has tried to kill will escape death and grow for the salvation of man. As in the days when God walked the Earth, now, there are children born for the salvation of our souls. And God will be in them. God will act through them.
As for me, working a job I don’t like will be its own cross. Since birth, I’ve been groomed to live in an unnatural way. That’s also a cross. Every man has a sense for hierarchy. They don’t like being told to fight or how to live by women they could beat, yet they are. This is a cross. To live in reality. Man should not be glued to screens or his imagination.
A man of God should suffer, and he should suffer well. He should also seek the direction of his superiors. For this world especially, he ought to find counsel in those men who act in persona Christi, priests, by whom through the merit of their office have God acting through them. Act and God will act.
Act and God will act. Work and He will work.
But never act or work against His ways.
Only evil works will give him what he’s prayed?
For times like this the righteous have no place?
Man should suffer, and he should suffer well.
Carry His cross, so much as God Himself.
